(Short story) When we were in Lombok island --> "Meet the Fire Eater"
When he walks, people will attach the tilted index finger as if told us that he was "insane". Even though he was an important figure in Dangiang village, Lombok. A good role model in villagers mutual cooperation. Hardworker man. He is an active smoker who smokes tobacco rolled with coffee powder. Villagers dub him as a "fire eater." If he talk about something, we always laugh at him. For example, he was told about his beautiful girl. An unrequited love that he loved so much. Mysterious girl, maybe. In another day he told us about "talking trees" and romantic landslides. So be it. And we laugh at him about that topics.
And at the time that we must go home to Jakarta, we missed him. We felt make a fun with ourselves. We felt that "insane" man more sane than us. Why?
Just because we always looks like urban people who feel like knows everything. Even we don't. The "fire eater" much better than us. He respect relationships between people and environment in a better way. He is so sincere and poetic while we were going in the same circumstances only grumbling and said "when we can take a shower?"
