Day 1

I arrived in Singapore at 3 pm. My first stop is Balestier Road which I stayed for 5 days. I packed just with a single bag and small bag for my wallet and gadgets. A box of markers, sketch book, shirts, underwear, and extra socks fit in it. Fortunately, the opposite of my hotel is a food court, and 7Eleven is on the next side. I ate a chocolate for dinner, even I imagined “gorengan” as a main dish…sigh!

Day 2

My first thought is Merlion, Marina Bay Sands, and ArtScience Museum. After attended the “Women Empowerment & ASEAN” event, I took the bus no 130 from Balestier Rd. After two stops, I getting off at Shenton Way, I walked down through the bridge pedestrian. I saw the Merlion, one of the popular destination in Singapore. That was my best stop. This place is historical and comes to life in the evening. After sketching the Merlion, I walked through the bay, and going to the Clarke Quay. From kilometre far away you can recognize Marina Bay Sands, an iconic building.

The art science museum is must visit location. I attended the “Sculpting and senses” exhibition by Iris Van Herpen. Don’t forget to explore the latest innovation products at the Red Dot Gallery.

Day 3

After took a breakfast at Kun Kaya Toast, I went to Arab street. Me, personally really enjoyed the heritage building. One of the iconic building in Arab street is Sultan Mosque. Is widely known for the historical and cultural area. And I was found a small heaven: it called Wardah Bookstore. It’s a peaceful place amidst bustling area. Inside the store I found (and bought) some books. And Voila! You can find a lot of Palestinian literature. Viva Gaza’s resistance!

Day 4

I saw “Buddha tooth relic temple” when I stopped by from bus in Chinatown. This area is a marketplace for various food stall. I walked through the market path and going to Sri Mariamman Temple at South Bridge Road. When I entered the gate of the temple, I heard the sound of percussion and traditional trumpet. Like an Indian festive. The place comes to live in the afternoon. I continued explored Chinatown with a lot of mural paintings in a whole place.

Day 5

Traveling to Singapore is easy. Not that difficult lah! Based on the context of public transportation. For example: It easier for persons with dissabilities, elders, or baby carriage to move from one bus to another. And the government has been arrange the sign system, route maps, and numbering well designed.
