GoetheVR : Classic Literatur Meets Virtual Reality. A Graphic Record

In October 2024, I’am invited to the GoetheVR (Virtual Reality)’s event as an exhibitor. It’s an honor to me, because I had to interpret a short article about one of Goethe’s prominent literature: Faust, in to an illustration. 

So, this is the article about the event. I copied from the original site of Goethe-Institut Jakarta.

“Equipped with VR headsets, participants actively engage in the narrative: They sign a pact with Mephisto, travel to a witch’s kitchen, meet Gretchen, and unravel the essence of the story. This immersive, literary journey unfolds through seven emotional scenes, staying true to the original text while integrating elements of Goethe’s language.

The result is a virtual world that captures the mood and substance of the literary work, allowing players to explore literary themes in a visually engaging way. The aim is to introduce participants to the characters, conflicts, and key motifs of Goethe’s work, while also sharing interesting insights about the author and his creative process.

Alongside GoetheVR, visitors can enjoy supporting information provided by selected experts in various media.”
