The mother of temple
A rainy day is a special gift for a prayers…and introvert sketcher like me :)
Yes! You can avoid a crowds and you don’t have to “fight” for a proper spot for sketching.
Everyone loves Bali,, but few are willing to walking with a raincoat, sketchbook, and iPad, to get somewhere, sketching, while it rain.

Ok, Besakih temple is located on the northern side of Bali. Near the Mount Agung. I went to Pura Besakih by motorcycles and it took an half an hour from Bangli.
Me, wear a sarong
Before you go to Pura/temple, you have to respect the local norms. You can wear a sarong while visiting the temple and make sure the knees are not visible. You can buy a ticket at the lobby of the entrance gate and park your vehicles in parking building, beforehand.
Be careful..it slippery when wet
Seasons of rain bring out the “magical” scenery. The pouring rain’s voice, the people with the offers for the gods, the falls of ancient water drainage, and the flowers are in bloom. Even if there’s a mist, I feel warm and relax as long as I take a steps on the stairs. Oh, exploring the Besakih temple means a lot of walking on stairs. So, you better bring your own tumbler and raincoat.
Take a break in Mbok Mangku’s warung
Let us sketch with Bali coffee
It’s about giving our time and energy to what we want arrange during the trip. Making a sketch? Get the best photos? Planning is important. But, while traveling, Personally, I love to make an ability to change or to make a plans in last minute while traveling.

A sketch from warung’s view '
In the middle of temple’s track, I found small warung. I took a break for the moment and ordered Chicken and rice, completed with Bali’s Coffee. The total cost only IDR 20.000. During the break I made a conversation with Mbok Mangku, warung’s owner. She said that traveling is experiencing the unknown.
An interesting quote from her.
When you’ve been welcomed by locals it’s priceless.
Nice!
